Polymex® archival range of films are exceptionally strong and crystal clear films that are resistant to moisture, pollutants, oils, and acids. They contain no volatile chemicals, which could migrate to the surface and cause damage. With a life expectancy of hundreds of years, Polymex® archival range of films will outlast most other plastics.

In addition, along with the brilliance and clarity of Polymex® archival range of films, they almost enhance the appearance of any paper collectible, it is an effective barrier against acidity which is the primary cause of paper deterioration.

The use of the Polymex® archival range of films is preferred by many curators because it allows visual access without requiring physical handling of the photograph or artefact. Polymex® Polyester is an exceptional material but only in products which avoid certain issues. Inserting and removing film continues to require a design, which permits free passage, to avoid scratching and abrasion. Polymex® Polyester enclosed films must be stored in an area with reasonable climate control to avoid the possibility of ferrotyping.

Ferrotyping is the result of condensation and can occur when fluctuating relative humidity exceeds 65%. Stable high humidity generally will not cause condensation, so in using Polymex® polyester for this purpose you can monitor changes at the higher levels.

We produce the goods, pack and transfer to our integral air lock, upon which we transfer goods into a sealable box on top of a customer specified pallet (whether ISPM 15, or whatever you require). and once the pallet is sealed, we move into our BRC accredited factory and ultimately despatch department for domestic or international shipping.

Slitting Services:
Trade Conversion Services from PSG Group Ltd. have a variety of slitting machines capable of slitting from 12 mm – 1600 mm (with capabilities of slitting up to 1800mm). We are specialist converters of materials such as PET, OPP, PLA, Cellulose Acetate, Paper, Tissue, Board, Nomex, Elephantide, Kapton, and many other materials. A fully comprehensive and precise slitting service is provided to convert customers own materials or the conversion of our own materials to specification. We are capable of producing coils from 12mm up to 1600mm in width on our 8 slitting machines of which two are housed in our state of the art class 8 cleanroom. Rolls can be supplied on 76mm or 152mm cardboard or plastic cores.  All finished rolls are packed and labelled as specified by the customer.

Sheeting Services:

Trade Conversion Services from PSG Group Ltd. have a complete range of sheeting facilities. Trade Conversion Services from PSG Group Ltd. can sheet all types and thicknesses of materials. From postage stamp dimensions to very large sheets.  Trade Conversion Services from PSG Group Ltd. can achieve tolerances of +/- 0.25mm.  Achievable sizes at this tolerance are limited to sheets up to 1300mm x 1400mm.  Larger sheets may be obtained, depending on type of material, up to 1524mm x 2000mm, where a tolerance is not so critical.  All materials, if required, can be interleaved with tissue and packed to specification.

Guillotining Services:

Trade Conversion Services from PSG Group Ltd. offer a first class guillotining service in the production of polyester film, paper and other materials into sheet form. We can achieve tolerances of +/- 0.25mm. Achievable sizes at this tolerance are limited to sheets up to 1500mm x 1650mm. Larger sheets may be obtained, depending on type of material, and where a tolerance is not so critical.

Core Cutting Services:

Trade Conversion Services from PSG Group Ltd. operate an automatic high speed core cutter than can cut extremely high spec cardboard and plastic cores at extremely efficient speeds, to a top quality finish & within extremely tight tolerances. This is due to the 20-40T daily PET throughput of our slitters at present, especially the 152mm core requirements of our latest slitter.

These films have a multitude of different coatings, surfaces, static dissipation, treatments, and or special cores, packaging, tolerances that enable them to be used in a wide variety of patching machinery.

Carton Window Patching from PSG Group Ltd. recently faced a complex request from Benson Box and Bobst that took over 24 months to complete, in which we developed a bespoke Enviromex® film with enhanced surface characteristics, exacting levels of tension, static neutrality, unbelievablably demanding slit edges, width tolerances and enhanced 2 side treatments that have enabled it to run at the demading speeds the new Accuwin cutter and gluer on the Heiber & Schroder module of the Bobst all in one machine (the next generation and first machine of its type).

Lee Alton (Product manager for Folder Gluer and Window Patcher Products for Bobst international) stated the Enviromex® tailor made film is working better than Bobst could ever of expected, and in conjunction with Pafra’s specially formulated high viscosity glue (Pafra 7400-A) have enabled lightening fast production speeds.

This new Bobst patcher can do what 3 older gluers, patchers, and folding machines did in the same time. The max window size at present this machine can take is 150mm (+0/-2mm) x 300mm chop, and up to 30,000 windows per hour.
